This Canada Day, I've been thinking about... June 29, 2026
This Canada Day, I've been thinking about my parents.
They immigrated from Greece and built a life for themselves in Canada. Through their courage, determination, and hard work, they created a future that my siblings and I will always be grateful for.
Today, that story continues at Bloomfields. Our team includes people who have recently made Canada their home— some seeking new beginnings, others rebuilding their lives after unimaginable hardship— alongside those whose families made that same journey generations ago. Their experiences, cultures, resilience, and perspectives enrich our workplace every day and are part of what makes our community so special.
Canada's beauty is extraordinary— from its rugged coastlines and endless forests to its lakes, prairies, and mountains. But what I appreciate most is the chance this country has given so many people to build meaningful lives and contribute to something larger than themselves.
Canada, like all countries, continues to evolve. I believe one of its greatest strengths is its willingness to keep learning, growing, and striving toward something better.
Today, I'm simply grateful.
Grateful for my parents' courage.
Grateful for the life they built for our family.
Grateful to be part of a community—and a country—that continues to welcome people with hope, hard work, and the chance to build a meaningful life.
May we never take for granted all that we've been given, and may we continue creating those same possibilities—for future generations and for those who are just beginning to call Canada home.
Happy Canada Day.

One more thing we're grateful for...
This week also marks the final chapter of peony season.
Like so many of summer's beautiful moments, it doesn't last long.
Our farm and local growers have given us another wonderful season filled with fragrant, garden-grown blooms, and we're savouring every last stem.
If peonies are part of your summer tradition, we hope you'll enjoy them once more before the season comes to an end.
Alongside them, our farm flowers continue to arrive daily—bringing the beauty of a Canadian summer indoors.
